Spinning Jenny : Synopsis

Ever feel like you're only seeing half the picture? Ever wondered what's going on behind you're back?

Tom & Ruth are the unhappily married couple hosting the party, though Tom's attention drifts easily and Ruth is more interested in the vol-au-vents than in trying to keep her marriage on track. Their friends, Stuart and Siobhan, are in a long-term relationship though it is often difficult to see how, since Stuart is awkward and overtly 'English', while Siobhan is a laconic temptress. Jenny completes the picture, the ditzy birthday girl who somehow unintentionally causes havoc wherever she goes, thanks to a keen sense of gossip.

Events go from bad to worse as this cocktail of friendship results in frayed relationships and tested loyalties. But it's only Act 1.

What Act 1 leaves unclear, Act 2 settles. The set is spun around 180 degrees and the action is replayed - from the inverse angle. The background conversations and the hidden actions from the first half are made worryingly visible in the second half: the unseen brushes to a thigh, the activities behind a pillar, the cruel backstabbing.

There are spanners in the works and skeletons in the closet, and all seem to revolve in some way around Jenny, as events spin more and more out of control.

There are 2 sides to every story - only by seeing both will you get the full picture. It's love in the first 180 degrees.
